QUICK NAVIGATION
Access for everyone
The publication aims to provide readable editorial pages that can be navigated with a keyboard, with semantically ordered content, visible focus indicators, responsive layouts and text alternatives for meaningful images.
Built-in features
The site uses HTML headings and landmark regions, a skip-to-content link, mobile navigation, labelled filters, standard links and controls and an image lightbox with a close button. Layouts adapt to small and large screens. Motion is reduced when the browser requests reduced animation.
Known limitations
Some third-party destinations and image-heavy historical material may not have the same accessibility characteristics. The publication cannot control the accessibility of linked websites. A particular browser or assistive-technology combination may still encounter issues.
Feedback
If you have difficulty using any page, describe the page URL, device or browser and the issue through the contact methods published on the Contact page. The editorial team can consider reasonable improvements and alternative access to content.
